The tour program is a Flash animated application that comes with all editions of Windows XP.

Starting in early of 2001, while Microsoft had the codename "Whistler" used for this OS, the company figured that they would include a tour application with Windows XP to guide Windows users the new features of the OS. It started out with only one piece of background music, the actual font of the text, and only animated images and one clickable button. However, the program was firstly made to be an endless animation. Later in May 2001, the program that has the actual features that we see today is included with build 2475. It contains the first versions of the music tracks that were later completed in the final release and a song from one of the sections "The Connected Home and Office" that was later unused in the final version of the tour.
